Dr. Ankita Kothari (AK) is a highly skilled ophthalmologist with over a decade of diverse clinical and surgical experience.
After completing a Master’s in Ophthalmology and attaining the prestigious Postgraduate Degree in medicine and an Ophthalmology qualification in India in 2013, Dr. AK served as an Assistant Professor at the renowned St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, contributing significantly to both academic and clinical ophthalmology.
Motivated by a strong passion for paediatric eye care, Dr. AK undertook a dedicated fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology in Perth, Western Australia. Over the past four years, Dr. AK has worked across multiple subspecialties in the ophthalmology departments in public hospitals in Brisbane, culminating in the award of the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in April 2025.
Dr. AK offers comprehensive ophthalmic care, with clinical expertise spanning cataract, pterygium, glaucoma, corneal conditions, and medical retina management. Surgical services include cataract surgery, pterygium excision, corneal cross-linking for early keratoconus, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
In her spare time, Dr AK enjoys spending quality time with family, good food and exploring beautiful places the world has to offer.
